How I Made $140 in 24 Hours Selling an AI Service on Etsy
What’s good my kings and queens? We need to talk about these AI services on Etsy.
I’ve been talking about them on YouTube for weeks, but here’s the real difference: talking about it vs actually doing it. In this post I’ll break down how I launched a brand-new AI service on Etsy and made around $140 in the first 24 hours… and why I think this is one of the best business models on the platform right now.
Short version: I 100% recommend services. And the MVP of this whole thing? Nano Banana running inside my own app, Kreatorium AI.
What I Mean by “AI Services” on Etsy
When I say AI service, I don’t mean selling another PNG bundle for $3. I mean you sell a custom transformation powered by AI, for $25–$40 (or more) per order. For example:
- Turn a couple photo into an anime illustration.
- Restore and colorize an old photo from World War II.
- Remove a person from a picture (“delete my ex” service).
- Combine two photos into one emotional portrait (e.g., adding a passed loved one into a new family photo).
The beautiful part is that Etsy is already a gift marketplace. People are on there every day looking for emotional, personalized presents. You’re not begging for traffic; the traffic is there. Your job is to show up with an offer that hits them in the feels.
The Specific Service I Launched
This wasn’t my very first service ever—I already sell AI avatar services on a few shops—but those require some manual Photoshop work. This time I wanted something that was almost 100% AI-driven.
The service I launched focuses on old photos—restoring, enhancing and transforming sentimental images. Think:
- Cleaning up old, faded photos
- Bringing them into color
- Adding subtle stylistic upgrades while keeping the original vibe
Nano Banana is ridiculously good at understanding context, so it’s perfect for this. I run it inside Kreatorium AI, where I have my whole workflow set up.
Results: $140+ in the First 24 Hours
Here’s what happened after launch:
- In the first 24 hours we got 6–7 orders right away.
- That came out to around $140–$180 in revenue on day one.
- All of it was digital — no printing, no shipping, no inventory.
Over the first five days, the shop did:
- 22 total orders
- A few hundred dollars in sales
- Multiple 5-star reviews from happy customers
And because the listing took off so quickly, it climbed to the first page for our main keyword.
Why the Margins Are So Good
Because this is a digital AI service, the costs are tiny:
- No cost of goods
- No printing or shipping
- Just Etsy fees and some ad spend
Roughly speaking, my margins look like this:
- With ads: about 60% profit
- Without ads: about 80% profit
So if a service is $30, I’m typically keeping a very healthy slice of that. And remember, an order only takes a few minutes to deliver.
The Fulfillment Workflow (3–10 Minutes Per Order)
Here’s what an average order looks like from my side:
- Order comes in. Sometimes the customer messages right away with photos; if not, I message them first.
- I request:
- The photos to work on
- Clear instructions (“make it black and white”, “keep background”, “soften wrinkles”, etc.)
- I open Nano Banana inside Kreatorium AI. I literally copy/paste their message into the prompt box.
- Generate the image. Most of the time Nano Banana nails it in one shot. If not, I tweak the prompt slightly.
- Export at 2K resolution. 2K is plenty sharp and uses fewer tokens than 4K, so it’s the sweet spot.
- Deliver via Etsy messages and mark the order complete.
Total time: usually 3–10 minutes, average around 5.
In my listing I say delivery takes 1–4 days. That gives me a buffer in case things get busy. Most customers get their image way sooner and are happily surprised.
How Remix Mode in Kreatorium AI Speeds Things Up
Sometimes Nano Banana’s first try is 90% perfect but needs one tiny fix — maybe a weird object, or a small area that looks off.
To handle that, I added a feature called Remix Mode inside Kreatorium AI:
- Generate your base image with Nano Banana.
- Click Remix.
- Highlight the exact area you want to change (it gets tagged with a number).
- Give a quick instruction like “remove object 1” or “fix area 2”.
Nano Banana then focuses its edit only on that part of the image. No need to start from scratch or jump into Photoshop. This one feature alone shaved a ton of time off each order.
Why the Listing Took Off So Fast
1. Timing
The service is themed around gift-worthy, emotional photos, and we launched it right before Christmas. People were literally searching for this type of thing that week. Timing is everything.
If you’re launching now, the next big wave is Valentine’s Day. Think couple photos, romantic edits, memorial pieces — anything emotional for partners and families.
2. Strong Visuals & Emotion
We worked hard to make the listing visually powerful:
- High-quality examples generated with Nano Banana.
- Mockups showing people actually holding framed prints.
- A short emotional video (made with Sora) of someone crying while opening a gift.
Emotion sells. If your thumbnail makes someone feel something, your click-through rate jumps.
3. Quick Traction Beats Perfect SEO
I didn’t obsess over SEO. I basically:
- Looked at competitor titles.
- Modified one to fit my exact service.
- Used the SEO generator inside Kreatorium AI to clean it up.
What really mattered was momentum in the first 24 hours — clicks, orders, and favorites. That’s what helped push the listing to page one.
Going Hard on Ads (Because the Math Works)
On this shop we decided to push ads right away:
- New shop ad cap: $25/day.
- No crazy micromanagement. Just: “Here’s the budget, promote this listing.”
Because the margins are so high, spending $20–$25/day is totally fine if it brings in $100+ in orders. If Etsy would let me, I’d happily scale this budget higher as long as the numbers stay good.
Customers, Reviews, and Future Potential
So far:
- We’ve had no major rework requests.
- Most customers are happy with the first image they receive.
- We’ve collected multiple 5-star reviews, mostly from people saying how emotional and meaningful the images were.
This same service can easily be duplicated on other platforms like Fiverr for extra revenue streams. Anywhere people buy custom art, this can work.
Why AI Services Beat Chasing PNG Trends
Don’t get me wrong, I still like selling clipart and digital prints. But AI services hit different:
- You’re not stuck chasing every new micro-trend for $3 bundles.
- You focus more on customer service and fulfilling orders.
- Each order can be worth 10x a typical digital download.
With tools like Nano Banana (and everything wrapped together inside Kreatorium AI), delivering those orders is fast and fun. You’re not grinding in Photoshop for hours — you’re prompting, tweaking, and sending people gifts that genuinely move them.
Want to Try My Setup?
If you want to build your own AI service on Etsy, here’s the simple playbook:
- Pick an emotional outcome (photo restoration, memorial portraits, couples edits, etc.).
- Use Nano Banana inside Kreatorium AI to generate your sample images and fulfill orders.
- Launch your listing with strong visuals and a clear description.
- Push some ads early to get momentum.
- Deliver fast, be kind to your customers, and ask for reviews.
That’s literally how I made $140 in the first 24 hours with this new service. And we’re just getting started.
